The problem is....

His right leg.......
He gets into perfect crawling position, then out comes the leg. It almost seems like he knows he is going to be sitting up, so he gets the leg out there and ready, just saving time maybe???? The boy would be crawling if he would just keep that right leg in. Here he is below in perfect position. Out comes the leg, I know he is thinking I'm so close to Elmo, I will be sitting soon might as well stick it out now.

and the sit.

here we go again.....

Now that's one limber boy!!!!

and again......

One armed push ups?????

always a show off!

What if you sat in front of him and kept moving elmo further away? Also with Noah I would get behind him and move his leg with his arm over and over. I think he finally got sick of me behind there and off he went. Alex looks so close .. It's so exciting..

What a strong boy you are Alex! You are so flexible too! It kind of makes my body hurt looking at all of the positions you can get in to. Keep up the good work young man!

The caption on the last picture should be

What a little gymnast!! I just know when I show my husband these pics, he's gonna cringe and say "no dude should do the splits, EVER!"

He'll get the hang of it soon.

that is incredibly cute (says one who is clearly not the mom here). I cannot wait to see his amazing feats of flexibility in just a week an a half!

LOL whatever works right? Austin did that also but not as often as Alex. It's funny to watch!

So cute! I'm sure PT cringes. I'm with Kristi--get in front of him and keep moving backwards. That's the only way I can get Addison to crawl. She's too lazy, and if it's too far away, she flips and back scoots.

That is too cute - he is really supple. I remember our Matt also doing the sticky-out-leg thing for a while. Funny that Alex also does it. I rememeber sitting behind him moving his legs so that he could get the patter of crawling. (Similar to Kristi). I bet Alex is enjoying exploring all the different positions he can get his body into.

I just love this post and all the photos. He is doing great! Although that leg coming out might be strange to us, he has his reason for doing it and it makes him all that more cute!!! I love it!!
